April 8th: Crafting a Compelling Needs Statement

Speaker - Colton Strawser, Colton Strawser Consulting

National statistics are interesting, but sharing what they mean at a local level is powerful in crafting effective programs and funding proposals. There are many datasets out there that can help you tell your nonprofit’s “why” and assist in contextualizing your work. Whether you work in education, healthcare, social services, food insecurity, animal rescue, or anything else, local data can help you create a compelling case for support and needs statement.

A formula for writing compelling need statements and cases for support utilizing four different types of needs will be shared along with examples of how to incorporate community data into actionable fundraising methods.
