Workshop - Strategic Volunteer Recruitment: Finding and Attracting Your Ideal Volunteers

Thursday, February 13, 2025  |  9 AM - 12 PM

North Texas Nonprofit Institute, 700 Highlander Blvd, Arlington, TX 76015

An interactive workshop for both 'seasoned' or 'new' Volunteer Managers. Learn how to assess organizational needs and identify target groups of volunteers to fill those needs. Together we will practice creating volunteer opportunities in VOLY.org as we adapt them to meet your needs. Implement new mission focused strategies while learning how to uniquely message different audiences and practice building targeted opportunities.

Presented by Cathy Hurst with VolunteerNow.

Cathy Hurst has been committed to volunteerism and community engagement since 1986.  Thirty-eight years ago, Cathy walked into the doors of the Volunteer Center in Dallas and never turned back. She started working in the Court Ordered Community Service program and soon became the Volunteer Manager, where she matched hundreds of interested people with opportunities using only a typewriter and a notebook! Today, she serves as the Agency Relations Coordinator and has the pleasure of helping over 3,000 nonprofits. Cathy provides resources and training for best practices in volunteer management and the use of VOLY.org, and connects agencies to our Donated Goods program
